Born from a love of cinema, storytelling, and the strange, beautiful complexity of being human, Café com Leite Productions creates films and pictures that explore identity, memory, intimacy, and grief.

Our work is rooted in a Brazilian sensibility while looking outward. Bringing to life projects that feel intimate and specific while still speaking to something universal.

Why Café com Leite?

The name comes from somewhere much more personal.

From a very young age, my grandmother would give me café com leite in my baby bottle. It may not have been the most conventional thing to give a child, but for me, it meant something bigger.

Every evening around six, my grandmother would make her coffee and milk. Giving me my own little bottle became her way of letting me into the ritual. To sit beside her, to share in something that belonged to her everyday life.

As I grew older, café com leite became more than a drink. It became a setting for conversation.

It has been present through some of the most wonderful and some of the most difficult conversations I’ve shared with family and friends. Moments of laughter, confession, disagreement, mourning, affection, and everything in between.

And perhaps that is what makes the name feel right for a production company.

Because, in its simplest form, café com leite is something made to be shared.

Two things come together and create something neither could quite be on its own. And around it, there is time to talk, to listen, to remember, to connect.

Much like filmmaking.

A film brings together image, sound, performance, memory, and imagination to create something that can then be shared.

A story that belonged to someone becomes, for a moment, something that belongs to all of us.

That is what we hope to make.

Films that invite you to sit down for a while.

Films that stay with you even after the conversation ends.
